President: Mark Destito, 336-1727 Secretary: Millie Piersall, 336-5089
Vice President: Dave Flanagan, 339-9610 Treasurer: Dave Peer, 336-0593

January Meeting: Tuesday, 10 Jan 2006, 7:30 PM – Lee Town Hall

Our early snowy riding season suddenly ended when the warm weather and rain ruined everything. Groomers were going out daily so we hope everyone had a chance to put a few miles on their sleds. On the other hand, the loss of snow gave us another chance to put up more trail signs and to install a culvert at a large water hole above the power lines near Beartown Road, and two other culverts in wet spots above West Branch.

Our Vice President has been busily generating emails informing our members of trail conditions, trail work plans, and other news as it occurs. If you would like to be included to receive these reports and have not provided us your email address, get on the list by contacting Millie at her email address shown above.

Club Christmas Party/Auction CANCELLED: Due to the low number of people signed up for this event, we have CANCELLED OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY which was scheduled for this Saturday, the 7th.. We are disappointed to say the least as this was our only fundraiser planned for this year. We wish we knew what it takes to motivate people. We get a low response when we ask for volunteers to help with work and now we can’t even get people to party!

Trail Party/Landowners Appreciation Party: We will have a trail party for members / landowners / prospective members at our groomer barn on Sunday, 29 January 2006, from Noon to 4:00 PM. Food and hot drinks will be provided. The groomer barn is located at 9183 Sly Hill Road and is accessible from both the highway by car and our north trail via sled. On sled, heading north out of Stokes after crossing the Stokes-Westernville Road, and starting up the hill you will turn off the trail to the right. A sign will be posted here and also at the driveway on Sly Hill Road directing you to the party. You can arrive by car or sled, your choice. Party will be held regardless of the weather, is free and no sign up is required. Perhaps this will lure more people to attend, we will see.

Club Memberships: Unfortunately, we had to delete 25 members from our membership list as they didn’t renew their dues. Hopefully, some may have just forgotten and may still come forth. The good news is we gained 28 new members, so we remain status quo. Remember, next season, sled registration goes up to $100.00 per sled if you don’t belong to a club. Club member registration fee will remain at $45.00.

Reminders: When meeting a groomer on the trail, remember the groomer always has the right of way. Stay back at least 100 feet and pass on the LEFT only when signaled to do so by the operators. Stay on the marked trails and no loud pipes!!

SEE YOU AT THE MEETING TUESDAY AT 7:30 PM LET IT SNOW!!
