Vice President: Dave Flanagan, 339-9610 Treasurer: Dave Peer, 336-0593

December Meeting: Tuesday, 13 Jan 2005, 7:30 PM – Lee Town Hall

We are off to a great start with snow fall so far and hope that it will continue. But, as you may have read in the local paper Monday evening, the Oneida County Area Snowmobile Association VP stated that current snow conditions are not good enough for riding. The association is asking riders in this area to wait until the ground freezes, until all the hunting seasons end, and until new trail signs are installed. Our club has been putting out signs since last weekend, even working into dark, and we are completing a new bridge for the trail near the state fish hatchery. Also, as of today, we have not been able to get one landowner’s permission to cross his land. Consequently, we do not have a trail from the town park to Lee Center. We have tried to relocate the trail with no success. If anything new develops, you will be advised.

Election of Officers: Election of officers was held at the November meeting. There were no new nominees for office, thus the entire current slate (as shown at the top of this newsletter) was voted in for another year. Thanks to all the officers for their efforts to meet the daily challenges put forth to run this organization.

Trail Work - Help Still Needed: As previously requested in all newsletters, please call Mark Destito at 336-1727 or Vinny Gentile at 339-1043 if you can volunteer any time for trail work. Because of wet weather and lack of sufficient help, we are behind in signing and other trail work. If the trails are not up to par ask yourself are you part of the problem for not putting forth any effort here.

Club Christmas Party/Auction: The Christmas party/auction will be held on Saturday, 7 January 2006 at the Colonial Inn, Turin Road. Social hour at 6:30 PM with snacks, with a buffet dinner to follow. Total cost is $15.00 per person. A fundraising auction will be held after the dinner Since this is the only fundraiser planned at this time, we would appreciate your donation of items for this auction. Items can include baked goods, floral arrangements, wine, whatever. Use your imagination and donate what you think someone would be interested in bidding on. If you can’t attend the party, you can still donate an item. Also, anyone can come to the auction and bid without attending the party. Your support will be appreciated. Contact Millie at 336-5089 or email, indytraks@twcny.rr.com, or Mark at 337-1727 to sign up no later than Tuesday, 3 Jan 2006.

I-ROC & Beyond: This radio show is devoted to local snowmobiling and hosted by the Oneida Co Area Snowmobile Association President. It is broadcast on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8PM on bigfrog104.com. Also, the Snowbelt and Snowbound publications have interesting reading regarding local snowmobiling. You can pick up a copy at most convenience stores and sled dealerships.

Safety Course Thanks: Much thanks to John Beggs for teaching the course and to Doug Chmielewski for his donation of the tables and chairs as well as the pizza for the kids. 21 students passed the course.

Club Memberships: We welcome 22 new members to the club – thank you for joining! We’re also hoping the current 35 members who have outstanding dues remain with us by sending them in very soon.
